They literally run right into each other at the airport and just sit and chat in the center of the floor. Lorelai gives Rory a bunch of presents which are all Hartford, Connecticut items.
Taylor may be in a wheelchair, but he’s put on the craziest town fair for the end of summer. Perfect timing for Rory’s homecoming arrival. Lorelai and Rory are walking around the fair and Rory and her get into an argument about Jesse. Lorelai discovers that Jesse and Rory actually kissed at Suiki’s wedding. She really gives her heck over it too, stating that she’s done nothing but drag Dean’s heart all over town, suddenly though Dean pops up and ends their conversation.
Off Lorelai goes for family dinner…without Rory. The parents give Lorelai a gift, it’s a Scones package. Suddenly they figure out Lorelai and Chris not being together. Emily orders an adult reason for the breakup and Lorelai gets pissed and states, she got someone pregnant and is staying with her, not them. Richard explains that Christopher is being responsible and he understands why Chris chose someone else instead of their daughter. Talk about a jerk.
Next scene is Lorelai pulling into town and watching Suiki and drag everything out of their house. Looking around town she spots Luke’s and heads to it, Luke explains it is closed and to leave. She’s beaten though and stands her ground, grabs her coffee and sits down and cries. Luke, always the nice guy listens to her and at the end tosses her a muffin before she leaves.
Once at the house Rory and Lorelai talk about their argument and Rory tells her mom she wants to stay with Dean. Together they talk more about the dinner at the grandparents and then Christopher. In the end, they eat muffin. What a perfect ending for this episode. Oh and the good news is they can eat at Luke’s again. Woohoo!
