Rory & Dean’s 3 Month Anniversary
It starts off with Miss Patty’s story hour as she is telling the town the story of how it all began. It’s Christmas time and everyone is preparing for the town festivals. In this episode it is Rory and Deans anniversary and he asks her to get out of Friday Nights with the grandparents. haha. Boy, is he in for a world of hurt. That’s like taboo for the grandparents. Rory gets home and asks Mom if she can get out of friday night. Lorelai tells her that grandma is NOT going to let this happen.
Lorelai calls Emily, her grandma, and asks her mom for Rory. She tries making small talk first and her mom says, just spill it. Well in her own way and finally justs blurts it out. “Friday Night is Rory and Dean’s Anniversary, blah, blah, not come to dinner on Friday.”
The surprise is Emily says this is fine, they hang up and Emily goes to a meeting. She tries to get out of it but can’t.
The next scene is Chilton, and are kissing at the lockers and Paris must get to her locker. Remember Paris has liked him forever. Rory is invited to a party by one of the Chilton girls for this friday night. Eeekk, worse is she says maybe.
Lorelai is at the inn and everyone seems to have a special someone, finally she leaves hoping to get away from it all. Crossing the park a giant star (paper mache’) almost crushes her, but she manages to make it to Luke’s Diner. She upsets everyone in the diner by stating the first town fire didn’t matter and she wished she understood why everyone is acting like it is a big deal. Luke loves it and adds to this. Then she states she wants to shoot everyone that states, “Hey how’s it going?” suddenly walks in Luke’s ex, Rachel. Course she happens to state that exact phrase. Luke is stunned to see her and asks her where she’s been.
Dean takes her to her new car that he has fixed up just for her and as they are laying in it he says, “Rory…I love you.” Rory is stunned and doesn’t know what to say and he asks her, “Rory?” She tells him, “I … I really love the car. I have to think about it.” They get into an argument because she can’t say it and he gets pissed and tells her he has to take her home.
Friday Night has come and Lorelai is ranting about how Rachel looks as she tries getting Rory’s hair to be perfect. They begin to talk about what’s wrong with her and she tells her she misses Max. Lane shows up before Rory leaves and tells her she must go on yet another future husband date with his family to the Winter Festival. Once on the date, Dean takes Rory to a fancy place to eat where he orders her more than one pasta because she can’t decide what she wants to eat. Once at the festival Dean asks Rory what book she brought as she brings a book everywhere, instead she has only brought a magazine. Right before the bonfire is lit Rory tells Dean she wants to see her surprise. Rory walks in at the end of the show and states, “we just broke up.”
When Lorelai gets to her parents house she is surprised by Chase, it seems Emily set her up on a date. During dinner, Lorelai tries making jokes but no one understands and treats her like a child. Richard is tired of hearing Chase talk and asks Emily for more roast. Lorelai jumps up to go get more and Chase tells her to hurry because he wants to hear about Star’s Hollow. They find out that Chase’s job, he actually figures out when someone is going to die. Lorelai ducks out to her room and decides to make a mad dash for it. Richard catches Lorelai escaping out the window, but decides not to tell.
Rachel is seen walking around the festival taking pictures of everyone, she even catches Luke and Lorelai. Luke questions her and asks why she is back, he explains she leaves at a moments notice and he doesnt’ want to get hurt again. She asks him about Lorelai, he tells her there is no deal with her. Uh oh this only means trouble and she can move in on him.
