Rory & Dean after Breakup

by Eliza Ferree

Lorelai and Rory

We all know it’s hard to see someone after a breakup but even harder if you live in a small town like Stars Hollow. Everyone knows that the two of them are no longer together and thinks Dean must’ve done something to her. Luke spots Dean heading to the cafe and meets him outside to have a slapfest.

Rory decides to go to the Chilton Party and asks Lane to come with. Rory spots a box of cornstarch before she leaves and gets all weepy and decides to toss it. Lorelai grabs it and tells her she’ll do it and have a great time at the party. Once they leave Lorelai goes to her closet and places the cornstarch in a box of things. My guess is it is everything Dean ever gave her.

Lorelai heads over to Suiki’s and finds her spying into her kitchen. She asks her, “Why are you spying?” Suiki explains that Jackson is making her dinner and has banned her from the kitchen, but she kept trying to cook so Jackson kicks her out. Lorelai asks to borrow her car and away she goes, next scene we see her walking up to a house. Max’s house, the two stare at one another and she tells him Rory and Dean broke up. After a few moments of her ranting Max invites her in.

Rory shows up at the party and Paris starts questioning her on why Dean isn’t there and all that. Lane is shocked that everyone is as stuck up as Rory said. There’s a big scene when Summer and Tristen. Lane is spotted by a Korean guy and is asked to go dance. Paris leaves exactly at 10:35p.m. and Rory is left in a room reading a book by herself. Henry, the guy Lane’s been dancing with is hot. She really likes him, but her parents would be happy about it so she doesn’t like it.

Max and Lorelai are in a heated, passionate kiss and can’t keep off each other. Max grabs a table and sticks it between them and they try to talk…just talk. Both are still at odds, he’s Rory’s teacher and she is her mom. Now they are in bed together holding one another trying to figure out what happens next.

It ends by Rory finally talking to Tristen, she walks into an empty room he’s in and talks about tests. He asks her where Dean is and she explains they are no longer together. That’s when the moment happens and they both kiss but Rory begins to cry and runs out of the room.

Lorelai walks back in to her home to find Rory with a gallon of ice cream in her lap, “I’m ready to wallow now.”
