Recap: Rory Back with Dean?
Jackson isn’t taking well to becoming the Man around the Town. Suiki and Lorelai are cooking and getting the Inn ready for visitors, course they are chitchatting about how Lor really feels towards Rory and Dean hanging out together again. Rory is having lunch with her Grandpa and he tells her he’ll miss Friday Night dinner so would like to do lunch. He’s yammering away and Rory is just sitting there listening.
Lorelai is now at Luke’s and they are talking about what type of tipper she is. Apparently she’s a VERY bad tipper, course once she gets her coffee she heads out and they agree to meet the following night. She runs right into Dean and they have an awkward conversation. She then arrives at her mom’s and sees a Panic Room in the middle of the Foyer, so of course she gives her mom a hard time. Thankfully Rory comes in and saves the day and they go to have drinks.
Emily starts telling them she got the panic room because she’s afraid, scared of being alone and afraid Richard wouldn’t even look up if she was screaming. Quickly they go over to his place and search for Gin, but instead they smell a horrible odor, which Rory says is his cigars.
Rory and Dean are together on his couch when Lane calls and he won’t leave her alone. Rory gets off the phone and asks him to go on a double date with her mom and Luke. Dean isn’t okay with it though and if she had stuck around longer she would’ve learned that neither was Luke.
The following day Lorelai is on the phone with Rory but her mom calls through and tells her to write down her panic code number. Once she gives it she hangs up and Lorelai gets back on with Rory. Rory states the same thing, she should just give it to Richard. Lorelai decides to go chat with her dad and learns he’s joined a cortet (sp) and is very happy about it. She tries telling him to share this with Emily but he doesn’t think she’d care.
It’s date night and Lorelai tries telling Luke not to act funny because this has to work because she wants to see her daughter. They had to get food and then a movie, deciding the best place to eat is Joe Joe’s. Joe Joe’s is done by Kirk and they begin to watch the movie and decide to watch PippiLongstocking. They learn Luke has never seen it. Rory and Dean go get more popcorn but must get Kirk and his girlfriend from making out. Lorelai hammers into Luke for the way he is behaving towards Dean, he apologizes to her and says thank you to Dean when he gets back with popcorn.
Can ya really blame him? He knows how the two broke up in the first place and then he cheated on his wife, left her and is now dating Rory. Luke has always looked at Rory as his daughter, he’s going to be protective.
At the end of the night the foursome head over to Lorelai’s and Dean and Luke both want a beer until Luke voices his opinion. Things get strange, really strange. Rory brings in the Bop It and the two men are about to kill the thing, Luke is excited about winning and really gets nutsy about it. Dean quickly decides it is time to leave. Rory is upset and lays into Luke and says she’s going back to her school.
“He’s not good for her, he’s not right for her.” He then tells Lorelai that Rory deserves someone that is like a prince, someone that will treat her right. Luke embraces Lorelai and then asks if she wants a beer, the two sit on the couch together.
Emily is at her desk when Richard comes by for some small talk and tells her about the Cortet and she tells him she bought a panic room. Just as Rory is leaving town she spots Dean and the two talk about the movie and the old days, but I think they’ll soon realize that they won’t be living in the old days.
