Gilmore’s Neighbor

Friday, November 17th, 2006

Veronica Mars has been given a pick up for 20 episodes this season. This is a good show of confidence on The CW’s part for the Tuesday pair of Gilmore and Veronica. Veronica is up 7% in the 18 -34 demo compared to last year. It is important for our Girls to have a great partner on Tuesday — especially with American Idol coming up. I can think of no one better than Ms. Mars!

Gilmore Girls still doing well ratings-wise

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

Gilmore Girls brought in 4.4 million viewers this week. I’m very interested to see NEXT week’s numbers. I’m wondering if Lorelai and Chris getting married will be the last straw for some fans?

CW struggling to get viewers

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006

According to Entertainment Weekly, since The WB and UPN have merged ratings aren’t so good for the new network. Many households had to switch the channel to catch the new CW shows and it looks like many haven’t bothered. While Gilmore ratings are doing fairly well, there has been a 19% change (decline) in viewers since Gilmore moved from the WB to the CW. Network execs have said they are still a new network and are pleased so far with ratings.

Trick or Treat

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

No new Gilmore tonight, so feel free to get out there and trick or treat! Tonight’s ep will be a repeat of the season premiere, “The Long Morrow.” Sweeps start tomorrow. Sweeps months are November, February and May. These are the months that networks and shows go all out to grab the biggest ratings possible. They then use these ratings numbers to set advertising rates for the show. It’s all about the benjamins, people. So look for huge things to happen in Stars Hollow starting next week.

Ratings Round Up

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Some good news — our Girls are bringing in good numbers this season. Tuesday’s episode brought in 4.7 million viewers. Continuing the girl power, Veronica Mars brought in 3.3 million. Very solid for both shows. Here’s hoping the ratings stay good and they make Lauren and Alexis a sweet deal to stay another year. I’m not ready to call it a day just yet.
