“Knit, people, knit? recap
This week’s episode focused on the impact Christopher’s presence in Stars Hollow. Lorelai is worried that the townsfolk aren’t ready to accept Chris just yet. After a cordial, yet icy reception by Babette and Ms. Patty, Lorelai has to hatch a plan to get everyone in Stars Hollow to accept Chris, the “outsider.? She asks Sookie for her help and they decide to set Chris and Jackson up on a “man date,? hoping that will make everyone else begin to accept Chris.
On the man date, Jackson and Chris find little to talk about. Jackson begins talking about farming and how it is vital to make the commitment to the crop all day, every day – no matter how good the seeds are. He said that he and Sookie love farming very much. Chris gets the Lorelai as a crop metaphor and tries to convince Jackson he loves farming, too and is in it for the long haul.
The town holds a knit-a-thon to raise funds to fix the bridge. As the knitting begins, all the ladies discuss how cold it is and what a bad month it was to hold the event. Trying to help, Chris pledges to pay to have the bridge replaced and the fun ends. Townsfolk politely thank him for the gesture, but everyone is disappointed that the knit-a-thon is over. Clueless Chris doesn’t understand everyone’s disappointment.
Over at Yale, Rory moves back in with Paris and Doyle and prepares for Lucy’s 2002 themed birthday party. At the party, Doyle and Paris steal the show – “burning up the floorboards? dancing. Rory confronts Marty on his coldness and he agrees to stop being a jerk. By the end of the evening, Rory and Marty are both drunk and Mary tells Rory she is so beautiful. Uncomfortable, Rory sends Marty to dance with his girlfriend.
April has moved back home with her mom. But Anna has big news for Luke – she is taking April and they are moving to New Mexico. Luke wants to set a schedule for April’s visits, but Anna refuses. Moved by the birth of Liz and TJ’s baby, he tells Anna he will fight for his rights to April.
